According to Ehsanullah Ehsan, he joined the TTP as a student and was later a spokesman for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Mohmand Agency.

Ehsanullah Ehsan said on the basis of his ten-year experience with the Taliban, "Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan joins in the name of Islam by misleading people, especially the youth".  He said that "Taliban leaders do not live up to their slogans and claims".
