Google has introduced its cheapest smartphone Pixel 5A.


 This updated model of last year's Pixel 4A5G has some bigger screens, bigger battery and water resistant feature than before.

 The phone will go on sale in the United States and Japan from August 26.


 The Pixel 5A has a 6.53-inch display, but the refresh rate is only 60 Hz, although it was said that the display could give a refresh rate of 90 Hz.

 Compared to the 3885 mAh battery of the Pixel 4A, this new phone has a 4680 mAh battery and according to the company, the battery will work for one day on normal use while it can be run for 2 days in battery saver mode.

 It is the first smartphone in the Pixel A series to feature water resistance and can stay in 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes.

 The phone has 5G support and Google says the necessary software support will be added soon.


 Inside the phone is a Snapdragon 765G processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

 The fingerprint scanner is on the back of the phone while the headphone jack is retained and will be available to consumers in an 18-watt charger box.

 Google Pixel 5A has Android 11 operating system but the company has promised to provide operating system and security updates for 3 years.


 The back of the phone has a dual camera setup with the main camera equipped with a 12.2-megapixel sensor and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera.

 The 8-megapixel camera on the front is printed in a punch hole design.

 The phone will sell for 44449 (over PKR 733,000), which is 50 50 cheaper than last year's Pixel 4A.

 Thus, it has become the cheapest pixel smartphone ever.
