Since yesterday, various media and social media reports have claimed that the Punjab government has decided to ban the entry of social media persons in all parks across the province under which YouTubers and tiktokers will not be able to come to the parks and make any videos.
In addition, various posts circulating on social media claim that the Punjab Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has banned the making of videos, meeting sessions by tiktokers in all public parks after the incident.
It is also being said that PHA is also considering a ban on the entry of more than 2 men into public parks.
After circulating the above news, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar's focal person for digital media Azhar Mashwani rejected them while explaining a tweet.
Azhar Mashwani wrote in a tweet, 'This is fake news, no such decision has been taken by the government so far but tik tok is currently banned in Pakistan'.
On the other hand, in an interview, Punjab Parks, and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Chairman Yasser Gilani said that making YouTube and TikTok videos was not banned in Parks in Lahore but permission would be required before making the video.
Chairman PHA Lahore Yasser Gilani said, 'We have decided to reform on a wide scale as the incident in Minar Pakistan has shaken the entire country.
'It is time to see where the fault exists, we have also recommended to the Board that Minar Pakistan should now be given only family park status and not allowed entry without a family at any point in time,' he said.
Chairman PHA Lahore said that now permission has to be obtained from the authority first to make TikTok and YouTube videos and also explain what kind of content will be shot.
He further said that a proposal is also under consideration to impose some fees on YouTube and TikTok videos for filming commercial content but the final approval will be given at the board of directors meeting, which is now recommended by us.
Yasser Gilani said that as per the new policy formulated in this regard, the makers of TikTok or YouTube videos will also have to register the team and the accompanying persons and only those names included in the list of permits will be allowed entry.
"It can't be called a ban, but we are saying that permission must be taken to make such videos," said Chairman PHA Yasser Gilani on social media news.
He also informed that students will also not be allowed to enter the parks in Lahore before 2 pm while children wearing uniforms will not be allowed to enter the parks at any time.
Chairman PHA said, 'It has come to our knowledge that a large number of children from colleges and schools come to tiktok making parks so it will now be tightened that parks are not used for these purposes during school and college hours.'
Meanwhile, a letter sent by Vice-Chairman PHA Hafiz Zeeshan Rashid to DGPHA also recommended handing over of permanent security of Greater Iqbal Park to Rangers.
